A three-year-old girl has alleged molestation at a prominent private playschool in Gurugram, sparking widespread outrage and prompting police to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT).
Family members of the victim staged a protest outside the institution, demanding swift action against the perpetrator.
However, the school authorities have remained tight-lipped on the matter.
According to the complaint filed by the girl’s family, a delivery man visited their home on October 28 and allegedly touched the child inappropriately.
Subsequently, the girl disclosed a similar incident that had occurred with her at the playschool.
A senior police officer revealed that the victim was unable to identify the accused or pinpoint the exact time and location of the alleged incident in the playschool.
The police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at the Sadar police station.
Gurugram Police Commissioner Vikas Kumar Arora has constituted the SIT to delve into the matter from all angles.
Police spokesperson Sandeep Kumar confirmed the formation of the SIT and emphasised that the identity of the accused remains elusive.
