PM in Andhra, pays respects at Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s Mahasamadhi

The Prime Minister was accompanied by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan during his visit to Prasanthi Nilayam, which translates to the ‘Abode of the Highest Peace’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi pays visit to the holy shrine and Mahasamadhi of Sri Sathya Sai Baba in Puttaparthi on Wednesday.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the holy shrine and Mahasamadhi of Sri Sathya Sai Baba in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, on Wednesday, where he paid his respects and offered obeisance.

 

The Prime Minister was accompanied by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan during his visit to Prasanthi Nilayam, which translates to the ‘Abode of the Highest Peace’. This is the main ashram and Samadhi Mandir (final resting place) of Sathya Sai Baba.

 

Prior to reaching Prasanthi Nilayam, the Prime Minister held a roadshow en route to Puttaparthi to attend the birth centenary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Large crowds had gathered on the streets to welcome the prime minister. PM Modi is in Puttaparthi for the centenary celebrations, where he is scheduled to release a Commemorative Coin and a set of Stamps to honour Sri Sathya Sai Baba's life, teachings, and lasting legacy. He will also be addressing the gathering during the programme.

 

Later in the day, the Prime Minister will travel to Coimbatore to officially open the South India Natural Farming Summit at approximately 1:30 pm.

 

During the event, he will also release the 21st instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme. This instalment totals over ₹18,000 crore and will benefit nine crore farmers across the country.

 

The three-day South India Natural Farming Summit, running from November 19 to 21, is being organised by the Tamil Nadu Natural Farming Stakeholders Forum.

 

The summit will highlight crucial areas such as market linkages for farmer-producer organisations and rural entrepreneurs, and will showcase innovations in organic inputs, agro-processing, eco-friendly packaging, and indigenous agricultural technologies.

 

More than 50,000 participants, including farmers, natural farming practitioners, scientists, and organic input suppliers from Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Telangana, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh, are expected to attend.
