PM to visit Chhattisgarh on March 30

According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), Modi will visit Nagpur on Sunday and, around 9 am, will offer prayers at Smruti Mandir before proceeding to Deekshabhoomi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh on Sunday, March 31, where he will launch, inaugurate, and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects across various sectors, including power, infrastructure, railways, oil and gas, and education, worth over ₹33,700 crore.


PM Modi will begin his visit in Nagpur, Maharashtra, where he will offer prayers at Smruti Mandir and then visit Deekshabhoomi, where Dr. B.R. Ambedkar embraced Buddhism in 1956.


 Following this, he will lay the foundation stone for the Madhav Netralaya Premium Centre, an extension of Madhav Netralaya Eye Institute & Research Centre. This new 250-bed hospital will include 14 outpatient departments (OPDs) and 14 modular operation theatres to provide world-class yet affordable eye care. 


Later, he will inaugurate a Loitering Munition Testing Range and a 1,250-meter airstrip for UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) at Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited in Nagpur, a facility that will test guided munitions and warheads.


In the afternoon, PM Modi will travel to Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, where he will launch and inaugurate several projects related to power, rail, roads, gas, housing, and education. 


In the power sector, he will lay the foundation stone for NTPC's Sipat Super Thermal Power Project Stage-III (1x800 MW), worth ₹9,790 crore, and initiate the Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Ltd (CSPGCL) Supercritical Thermal Power Project (2x660 MW), worth ₹15,800 crore. 


Additionally, he will dedicate to the nation three Power Grid transmission projects under the Western Region Expansion Scheme (WRES), worth ₹560 crore.


Further, he will lay the foundation stone for Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL)’s City Gas Distribution (CGD) project, covering Korea, Surajpur, Balrampur, and Surguja districts, with over 1,000 km of pipelines, worth ₹1,285 crore. 


He will also launch the Visakh-Raipur Pipeline (VRPL) Project by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), spanning 540 km, worth ₹2,210 crore.


To enhance connectivity, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for seven new railway projects covering 108 km and dedicate three completed railway projects spanning 111 km, worth ₹2,690 crore. 


He will also flag off the MEMU train service between Abhanpur and Raipur and dedicate 100% electrification of Chhattisgarh’s railway network. In the road sector, he will dedicate the upgraded NH-930 (Jhalmala to Sherpar section, 37 km) and NH-43 (Ambikapur to Pathalgaon section, 75 km) to two-lane paved shoulder roads. 


Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for the upgradation of NH-130D (Kondagaon to Narayanpur section, 47.5 km), worth ₹1,270 crore.


In the education and housing sectors, PM Modi will dedicate 130 PM SHRI Schools across 29 districts, which will be equipped with modern infrastructure, smart boards, and labs. 


He will also launch Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) in Raipur, an online monitoring and data analysis center for education-related schemes. Additionally, he will hand over homes to 3 lakh beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Gramin (PMAY-G).


The visit aims to boost infrastructure, power generation, education, and connectivity, enhancing economic growth and development in Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh.
