Prez Murmu, PM Modi,Yogi extends wishes on UP’s 76th foundation day

President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and former Governor Ram Naik extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Uttar Pradesh on the occasion of the state’s 76th Foundation Day.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar presented the Uttar Pradesh Gaurav Samman 2024–25 awards in Lucknow today on the occasion of Uttar Pradesh's 76th Foundation Day.


On the occasion of Uttar Pradesh Foundation Day, the nation’s top leaders extended heartfelt wishes to the people of the state, highlighting its vital role in India’s economic, social, political, and spiritual development.

President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and former Governor Ram Naik shared their greetings on social media, expressing hopes for the state’s continued progress, prosperity, and well-being.

President Murmu praised the hard-working and talented people of Uttar Pradesh and wished for the state’s continued progress.

"My heartfelt greetings to all the residents of the state on Uttar Pradesh Day. This state is playing an important role in the economic, social, political, and spiritual development of the country. I am confident it will continue to progress on the path of overall development. I wish for the continued prosperity and happiness of the hard-working and talented residents of Uttar Pradesh," she wrote on X.

Prime Minister Modi expressed confidence in the state’s government and its people, emphasising their role in building a developed India.

He said, "On the foundation day of Uttar Pradesh, I extend my warm wishes to all my brothers and sisters of the state. This holy land, which has witnessed countless mythological and historical periods in Indian culture, has been creating new chapters of development for the last eight years. With a government dedicated to public welfare and the tireless hard work of its people, Uttar Pradesh will make invaluable contributions to a developed India."

Home Minister Amit Shah also conveyed his greetings, referring to Uttar Pradesh as the land of religion, knowledge, and rich cultural heritage. He added, "I pray to Lord Shri Ram for the all-round development of the state and the welfare of its people."

 

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his heartfelt wishes, acknowledging the state’s cultural and historical significance. On X, he wrote, "The birthplace of 'Raghukulnandan' Prabhu Shri Ram and Yogeshwar Shri Krishna, blessed by Baba Shri Vishwanath, is the glorious land of creation, culture, values, and valour. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the people of Uttar Pradesh on its 76th Foundation Day!"

 

He further highlighted the state’s achievements under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, referring to Uttar Pradesh as the "growth engine" of New India, setting benchmarks in development, security, and governance.

 

Vice President Dhankhar praised Uttar Pradesh’s cultural diversity, rich history, and continuous progress. He remarked, "Uttar Pradesh is an inspiration for its cultural diversity, rich history, and ongoing development. The state has made an unparalleled contribution to India’s growth in various sectors. With its immense potential, it continues to set new records of progress."

BJP National President J.P. Nadda lauded the state’s achievements, including the construction of the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya and the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, as symbols of new energy and pride for the nation.

Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh announced that six exceptional individuals from various fields received the Uttar Pradesh Gaurav Samman, each awarded ₹11 lakh, a certificate of appreciation, and a shawl. The recipients include Krishnakant Shukla (Varanasi), Himanshu Gupta (Vrindavan, Mathura), Manish Verma (Kanpur), Krishna Yadav (Bulandshahr), Colonel Subhash Deshwal (Bulandshahr), and Dr. Jai Singh (Bahraich).

Uttar Pradesh Day, celebrated on 24 January, marks the renaming of the United Provinces to Uttar Pradesh in 1950. This year’s celebrations, held in Lucknow, featured Vice President Dhankhar, Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Adityanath. The theme for Uttar Pradesh Day 2025 is "Development and Heritage: Uttar Pradesh on the Path to Progress."

Uttar Pradesh Day will be followed by National Tourism Day and Voter Awareness Day on 25 January and Republic Day on 26 January.
