The Punjab government has approved 16 adoption agencies to streamline and accelerate the adoption process for prospective parents, Women and Child Development Minister Baljit Kaur announced on Monday.
The decision aims to ensure the welfare of orphaned and abandoned children while making the adoption procedure more efficient and transparent.
In a significant move to strengthen child welfare services, the government has also sanctioned the creation of 176 new positions dedicated to safeguarding the rights and well-being of children in need.
These newly appointed personnel will play a pivotal role in expediting the adoption process, eliminating unnecessary delays, and ensuring that every adoption follows ethical and legal guidelines.
Minister Baljit Kaur emphasised that the government remains committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in the adoption process, ensuring that every child receives the care, love, and opportunities they deserve.
She reiterated that continuous efforts are being made to facilitate a smooth and transparent adoption system that prioritizes the best interests of the children.
