In a tragic incident, a 52-year-old man allegedly died by suicide at a village in Kangra district here on Tuesday. The police said the deceased hailed from Punjab and was working as an auto rickshaw driver in Kangra.
The man has been identified as Raj Kumar, son of Surinder Mohan and belonged to Pathankot in Punjab.
According to the police, Raj Kumar's body was found hanging from a tree at Matholi village in Nurpur sub-division. His auto rickshaw (PB 06 AW 9328) was also found parked at the spot.
The deceased used to drink a lot and was under depression for the past one year, the police said.
The Nurpur DSP said the body was sent to the Civil Hospital here for post-mortem. The police has registered a case.
