A key supplier of ration and essential materials to major Maoist formations, along with another Naxalite, has been arrested in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district, police officials confirmed on Saturday.

The arrested individuals, identified as Muchaki Suresh (28) and Punem Hidma (25), were apprehended on Thursday from the forested area near Kunded village, located within the Jagargunda police station limits.

Their capture was the result of a coordinated search operation conducted by a joint team of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 165th battalion and the district police force.

According to a statement released by the Sukma district police, Muchaki Suresh had been actively engaged in supplying ration and other daily-use materials to the People's Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) battalion no. 1, as well as the Telangana State Committee of Maoists.

The PLGA serves as the armed wing of the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist), playing a significant role in executing insurgent activities in the region.

Authorities also revealed that both Suresh and Hidma were involved in reconnaissance operations to monitor the movement of security forces. They were allegedly responsible for planting improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and iron spikes along the routes used by security personnel, as well as digging up roads to disrupt troop movements.

Additionally, officials confirmed that the duo had been implicated in a case related to an armed attack on a security camp in Puvarti village last year. Based on their involvement in these unlawful activities, legal proceedings have been initiated against them, and further investigations are underway.
