Ten Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) workers suffered injuries in a knife attack during a religious event at a temple in Jaipur on Thursday night.
According to the police, the incident occurred during a ‘jagran’ programme organised for Sharad Purnima.
Trouble began when two residents objected to the late-night event when thec prasad was being distributed.
A heated altercation followed, after which the accused called for reinforcements and launched an attack, injuring 10 RSS members, authorities reported.
Six of the injured were rushed to Sawai Man Singh Hospital for treatment.
The accused, identified as Naseeb Chaudhary and his son, were taken into custody, with police continuing efforts to apprehend others involved.
The violence sparked protests, with some people blocking the Delhi-Ajmer National Highway briefly on Thursday night.
The blockade was lifted after a few hours, allowing traffic to resume. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
"Efforts are underway to nab all those responsible for the attack," the police confirmed.
