Due to President Droupadi Murmu’s four-day visit to Kerala, stringent traffic and security restrictions have been put in place across the state capital and around the Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa hill shrine.

The President is set to arrive this evening and will travel to Sabarimala on Wednesday. Security has been intensified in and around Sabarimala, with specific arrangements made for pilgrims and temporary traffic controls imposed in the hill areas. The Kerala Police, the Devaswom Board, and the district administration have coordinated extensive measures to ensure the President’s visit is smooth, secure, and spiritually memorable.

The Thiruvananthapuram City Police Commissioner advised that vehicle movement will be regulated to allow the Presidential convoy smooth passage in the state capital. Passengers heading to Thiruvananthapuram International Airport have been advised to plan their journeys well in advance.

President Murmu is scheduled to leave Thiruvananthapuram Airport by an Indian Air Force helicopter at 9:35 am on Wednesday for Nilakkal. From there, she will travel by road to Pampa, offer prayers at the Ganapathi Temple, and then proceed to Sabarimala in a special Gurkha jeep via the Swami Ayyappan Road, notably without the usual security convoy. She is expected to reach the Sannidhanam around 12 noon for darshan (viewing) at the Ayyappa Temple, followed by lunch at the Devaswom Guest House before returning to Pampa around 3 pm.

On Thursday, the President is scheduled to unveil a statue of former President KR Narayanan at the Raj Bhavan. Following this, she will attend separate programmes at St Thomas College, Pala, and St Teresa’s College, Ernakulam.
