In a significant operation against Maoist activities, security forces seized a large cache of weapons and explosives during an extensive anti-Maoist crackdown in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district on Thursday.
The operation was jointly carried out by the Chaibasa Police and multiple battalions of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
During the raid, security personnel recovered a pistol with ammunition, seven improvised explosive devices (IEDs), five electronic detonators, 250 non-electric detonators, ten remote controls, 20 remote battery triggers, seven plastic containers filled with explosives, a cutter machine, a wireless communication system, 35 steel pins, a drum of chemicals, 30 safety masks, and various Naxal-related documents and essential supplies.
The security forces dismantled a key Maoist hideout located in a forested area near Jhidibadgi village, effectively preventing potential attacks on security personnel and civilians. Several traps set up by the insurgents were also neutralised to ensure the safety of the forces involved in the operation.
Since 2022, security forces have intensified their crackdown on Maoist activities across affected regions, including villages near Ghurbandha, strongholds in Bokaro, and areas bordering Jharkhand’s Tonto police station.
