Security increased at Badrinath after Delhi car blast.

Security at the Badrinath Dham has been stepped up following the recent car blast in Delhi. Intensive checking was carried out in and around the Shri Badrinath and Shri Kedarnath temple premises as part of enhanced security measures.

According to an official statement, the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) held discussions on the security arrangements with Chamoli Superintendent of Police Surjeet Singh Panwar.

Security inspections, supervised by the Temple Committee and the Chamoli district police, continued from morning till evening. Devotees’ belongings, vehicles, and nearby residential areas were thoroughly checked. Police personnel have been instructed to stay alert in temple premises, market areas, and parking zones.

The BKTC said ensuring the safety of devotees was the top priority for both the government and the temple administration.

For better coordination between the committee and the district administration, a joint security system has been established to respond quickly to any emergency.

Officials said constant monitoring was being done through CCTV cameras, and joint teams of police and temple staff had been deployed across the area.

Chief Executive Officer Vijay Prasad Thapliyal said security personnel had been assigned round-the-clock duty. He urged devotees to immediately report any suspicious object or person to the authorities.

With these measures in place, devotees have expressed a sense of safety, and regular worship and temple rituals are continuing smoothly, the release added.
