Seven workers were killed and several others injured late on Monday evening after an under-construction wall collapsed at a Signature Global housing society site in Sidhrawali village, Gurugram.
The incident occurred when around two dozen labourers were working near a sewage treatment plant at the ongoing construction site.
According to officials, the wall suddenly gave way, trapping the workers under heavy debris.
Rescue and relief operations were immediately launched by fellow labourers and local volunteers, who began efforts to retrieve those trapped.
Police and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams swiftly took over the operation, working through the night to clear the rubble.
An official later confirmed that the bodies of seven labourers had been recovered, while five injured workers were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Four of the injured — Chotelal, Deendayal, Shivkant, and Indrajeet — are reported to be in critical condition.
Six of the seven deceased victims have been identified as Milan, Shiv Shankar, Satish, Bhagirath, Milan, Mangal, and Parmeshwar.
Rescue efforts continued into Tuesday morning, with authorities investigating the cause of the collapse, including possible lapses in safety measures or structural stability at the site.
