In a spirited celebration of India’s Independence, approximately 800 students participated in a ‘Tiranga Yatra’ organised by Mizoram’s Art and Culture Department on Monday.
The event was part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, aimed at fostering national pride and unity.
Students from various schools, including the Govt. Mamawii Higher Secondary School, Govt. JL Higher Secondary School, and Govt. Central Higher Secondary School, marched from southern Aizawl towards Vanapa Hall, proudly carrying the Tricolour.
Concurrently, students from the Govt. Chaltlang Higher Secondary School and Govt. Mizo Higher Secondary School joined the procession from the northern part of the city.
At Vanapa Hall, a ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Pledge’ was conducted, where Aizawl district Deputy Commissioner Er. Lalhriatpuia emphasized the significance of the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ in promoting unity and national integrity among India’s diverse communities.
The celebrations will continue with a ‘Tiranga Concert’ scheduled for Tuesday at Vanapa Hall, further highlighting the spirit of patriotism among the youth of Mizoram.
