Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray on Saturday lambasted Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis during the current language battle and stated that the latter is concerned with how school children can be made to learn Hindi but never considers how those who come from outside the state to work here are made to learn Marathi.
Speaking at the Peasants and Workers Party foundation day function, Thackeray also challenged the state government to arrest the protesters agitating against projects under the Maharashtra Special Public Security Bill. There is no thought for "bhoomiputra" (sons of the soil) and "Marathi manoos" (Marathi speaking people) and a spine-chilling example of that is Raigad district, Thackeray stated.
Complaining that land is being usurped from agriculturists, Thackeray claimed industries in the state cannot be established on the graves of the Marathi manoos.
"If you want to establish industries, you must do it respecting Marathi manoos. You can't do that without it," Thackeray said.

"The top minister of Maharashtra wonders how school children will learn Hindi. But the CM does not wonder how others, who migrate to Maharashtra for employment, can learn Marathi," Thackeray said during the presence of Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut who also spoke at the event.
The head of MNS also wondered how a person can be labelled parochial if he speaks of his state.
The remarks come days after Raj and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray shared a political stage last month after nearly two decades to celebrate the rollback of two contentious GRs on the three language of policy and "imposition" of Hindi for students of classes 1-5.
Referring to Raut and Sena (UBT), the MNS chief said "two saffron flags" are furling on a red stage (the colour of PWP).
Thackeray speaking to the gathering also gains prominence as the NCP (SP), Sena (UBT) leaders, who are members of the Maha Vikas Aghadi, were also there on stage.
Referring to Raigad, which is a district that is being urbanised at a very fast pace and has satellite cities like Navi Mumbai and Panvel, Thackeray stated farmers' land is being purchased and those people involved as middlemen in the process are also Marathi.
The field is being devoured by the fence. Farmers are being ruined on one side and, on the other hand, outsiders are being employed, he stated.
