In what can be seen as a proactive approach under Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s zero-tolerance policy, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday said it has arrested two alleged supporters of the Saifullah group for allegedly aiding foreign terrorists by providing shelter and logistical support in the Singhpora area of Chatroo in Kishtwar district.

An official said the police arrested key accused linked to providing aid to foreign terrorists at a hideout in Singhpora, Chatroo, Kishtwar. The case has been registered under FIR No. 03/2026 at Police Station Chatroo, invoking Sections 61(2), 109, 147, 148 of BNS; Sections 13, 16, 18, 19, 20 of UAPA; and Section 7/27 of the Arms Act.

SSP Kishtwar Naresh Singh (JKPS), while sharing details, said through meticulous investigation and precise operations, police apprehended Mashkoor Ahmed, son of Mohd Ramzan, resident of Beighpora, Singhpora, Kishtwar, a teacher in the School Education Department, who was directly involved in facilitating a terrorist hideout. The arrest has disrupted critical logistical support to terrorist activities in the region, the official said.

Earlier, another accused, Maneer Ahmed, resident of Bandeyan Naidgam, was also arrested for similar offences. Investigation is continuing to dismantle the entire network, and all perpetrators will be brought to justice under due legal process, he said.

J&K Police reaffirmed its iron-fisted approach to eradicating anti-national activities, ensuring no safe haven for those aiding terrorists or threatening national security. The force said it remains committed to maintaining peace, public order, and security for all citizens.

J&K Police maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and its supporters, and continues an unrelenting crackdown, leaving no stone unturned to neutralise threats to peace and sovereignty.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has already stated that the administration follows a strict zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism, and those providing shelter or logistical support to terrorists will face strict action, including demolition of their properties. He has said there will be no leniency for terrorists and their support network, and supporters will face strict punishment.

From time to time, the administration has warned that houses used to shelter terrorists will be "razed to the ground". The crackdown focuses on over-ground workers (OGWs) and those who facilitate, finance, or provide refuge to militants.

Pertinently, the LG has also terminated the services of several government employees found to have links with terror outfits, calling them part of a “terror ecosystem”. He has urged the public to expose those sheltering militants, calling it a collective fight to secure the region’s future.
