The war against the imposition of Hindi being fought by the DMK and Tamil Nadu people has gone beyond the state borders. It is raging like a whirlwind in Maharashtra. Chief Minister MK Stalin said on Saturday that the Bharatiya Janata Party, which had been acting "illegally and anarchically" by announcing that it would release funds only if Hindi was made a third language in schools in Tamil Nadu, has withdrawn for the second time, dreading a popular revolt in Maharashtra, where it was in power.

"The surge and speeches of today's victory celebration rally organized in Mumbai in the leadership of brother #UddhavThackeray against Hindi imposition are highly encouraging," Stalin, president of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, said in a long post on social media platform X.

Earlier in the day, the estranged Thackeray cousins shared a public stage after two decades at a victory rally in Mumbai to celebrate the withdrawal of two government resolutions seeking to introduce Hindi as a third language from Class 1 in state schools.

Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray declared he and his cousin Raj Thackeray have "come together to stay together." MNS chief Raj Thackeray declared the three-language formula forced upon the state government was a foretaste of its intention to split Mumbai from Maharashtra as he shared the political platform with his cousin Uddhav after nearly 20 years.

"I am well aware that the Union Government, which has kept the promotion of Hindi and Sanskrit as its priority task, will find no explanation to Raj Thackeray's questions about what was the third language taught in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan or why Hindi-speaking states are backward and why Hindi is being imposed on the people of fast-developing states which do not speak Hindi," Stalin wrote in the post.

He wished to inquire if the Centre would alter its decision of vengeance against Tamil Nadu for stating that it would unlock Rs 2,152 crore of the Integrated Education Scheme (Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan) on the condition that the state embraced the new education policy that forced Hindi and Sanskrit in the guise of the three-language policy.

"Will it release the legally necessary funds for the education of Tamil Nadu school children straight away? The people's struggle against Hindi imposition is not merely emotional but intellectual and rational in nature to uphold India's plural culture and not due to hatred," the Chief Minister stated.

He wanted the 'uproar' in Maharashtra to wake up those who were 'parroting' the lines that one would find employment if one learned Hindi.

He added, "We will not let dishonesty in the release of funds to Tamil Nadu nor arrogance of declining to accept Keezhadi civilisation, to prevail.
The BJP has to search for a solution for the betrayal that it is perpetrating against Tamils and Tamil Nadu. If not, Tamil Nadu will give them and their new friends an unforgettable lesson again," Stalin said and urged the people to come together and fight against injustice.
