Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Friday completed the online self-enumeration process for Census 2027, calling on citizens to actively participate in the digital exercise and stressing the importance of accurate data for effective governance and inclusive development.
Saha carried out the self-registration from his official residence and urged people across the state to submit their details accurately within the stipulated timeline. He said that widespread public participation is essential for the success of the nationwide enumeration exercise.
Speaking after completing the process, the Chief Minister highlighted that the census goes beyond mere population counting, serving as a critical foundation for policy formulation, resource allocation, and the implementation of development programmes.
In a post on X, Saha said, “As part of the Census 2027, today I completed my self-enumeration process. I urge every citizen to actively participate in this national exercise by completing the digital self-enumeration process accurately and within the stipulated time.”
He added that a complete and accurate census is vital for better planning, effective governance, and inclusive development, emphasising that public participation plays a crucial role in achieving these goals.
Highlighting the introduction of the online self-enumeration facility, Saha noted that the digital platform has been designed to make the process more convenient, transparent, and technology-driven by enabling citizens to submit their information electronically.
The Chief Minister also underlined that the upcoming census would significantly shape the country’s future development agenda and encouraged residents across Tripura to contribute actively.
The online self-enumeration system is part of the Centre’s broader push to modernise the census process through digital technology while enhancing public participation in the nationwide exercise.
