The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief, Vijay, on Sunday resumed his campaign for the 2026 Assembly election following a break of nearly two months. He launched a scathing attack on the ruling DMK, accusing it of "loot" and indirectly levelling allegations of dynasty politics against the party.
Speaking to cadres, admirers, and local people at an indoor auditorium of an educational institution in Sunguvarchattiram, Kanchipuram district, Vijay slammed the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam for questioning the TVK’s ideology. He asserted that his party was founded on solid ideological standpoints, which begin with the principle of equality and include a demand for a caste census.
Vijay alleged that the DMK’s ideology was effectively "loot" and indirectly attacked the party over the prominence of dynastic politics within its leadership. The actor-turned-politician also ridiculed the DMK and accused it of pretension.
He highlighted a key policy difference, stating that the TVK did not make "empty claims" like the DMK on ending NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). Instead, the TVK seeks the more fundamental shift of moving the subject of Education from the Constitution's Concurrent List to the State List.
This address marked the first time Vijay had spoken to his party workers and the public since the tragic stampede in Karur on September 27, effectively signalling the full resumption of his campaign ahead of the state election next year.
