The Amritsar Rural Police have detained two individuals for their alleged involvement in espionage activities linked to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). The accused have been identified as Gurpreet Singh, alias Gopy Foji, and Sahil Masih, alias Shali.

Preliminary police investigations have revealed that the accused, Gurpreet Singh, was in direct contact with operatives of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and is suspected of leaking sensitive and secret information through pen drives. The key ISI handler involved in the case has been identified as Rana Javed.

Further investigations are ongoing to uncover the broader espionage terror network and identify all individuals involved. The operation, spearheaded by the Punjab Police, underscores the state’s firm resolve to protect country’s sovereignty and integrity.
In a separate development on June 21, the Amritsar Rural Police successfully busted a cross-border drug smuggling racket, arresting two key operatives identified as Lovepreet Singh and Balwinder Singh.

The Punjab Police-led operation highlighted the state's resolve in tackling narco-terrorism. Acting on credible intelligence, the police apprehended the two suspects and seized a significant quantity of heroin along with arms.

"Recovery: 6.15 Kg Heroin, 1 PX5 pistol (.30 bore) with 4 live cartridges, ₹10,000 drug money. An FIR has been registered at PS Lopoke. Further investigations are ongoing to trace forward and backward linkages," added the post.

As the crackdown continues, this operation marks a critical victory in the state's battle against cross-border smuggling.
