PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh strongly criticised Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur for demanding an area-specific relief package. He said the entire state has suffered heavy damage, and it is not justified for the LoP to focus only on one region.
Vikramaditya Singh said, “It is not right for the Leader of the Opposition to seek help only for political purposes. The state has suffered extensive damage, and as the LoP for the entire state, this selective approach cannot be justified.”
He called Thakur’s move politically motivated and stressed that relief efforts should benefit the whole state.
Jai Ram Thakur, who represents the Seraj constituency in Mandi, had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday and sought an area-specific relief and rehabilitation package for disaster-hit areas of Himachal Pradesh.
