TTD organises exclusive darshan for Tirupati stampede victims on Chandrababu Naidu’s instructions.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) arranged a special VIP darshan for the victims of the recent Tirupati stampede tragedy.

Following the incident, 52 injured devotees were granted this exclusive opportunity as instructed by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

TTD officials ensured that the devotees had the chance to visit Lord Venkateswara. After the darshan, the grateful devotees thanked the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and the TTD officials for organising this special ritual during their difficult time.

The stampede, which occurred near the Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan ticketing centres at the Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirumala Hills, tragically resulted in the deaths of at least six devotees, with many others injured.

Initial reports suggested that the stampede was caused by thousands of devotees rushing to get tokens for the Vaikuntha Dwara darshan, leading to chaos.

TTD chief BR Naidu said the stampede occurred during a large gathering of over 4,000 devotees, eager to get tokens for the 10-day special darshan.

On Thursday, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu strongly questioned TTD officials and the police about the incident. He raised concerns about the number of people allowed, questioning why 4,500 were allowed when only 2,000 were planned.

He also asked about the instructions given to the administration, which may have contributed to the overcrowding and the stampede.

In response to the tragedy, the Chief Minister suspended and transferred several officials after a review meeting where he expressed dissatisfaction with how the situation was handled.
