Following a resounding victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, the BJP has now shifted its attention to Bihar, setting an ambitious target of securing over 225 seats in the 243-member Assembly.
The state elections are scheduled for October-November.
Tarkishore Prasad, a senior BJP MLA and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, expressed confidence in the alliance's prospects.
"Since 2005, the NDA government has been working effectively in Bihar. In 2025, the NDA will return to power and continue Bihar’s development," Prasad said.
The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) believes its development agenda and governance record will help it retain power in the state.
Adding to the confidence, Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) leader Jitan Ram Manjhi, a key NDA ally, described the Delhi victory as a harbinger of success in Bihar.
"Dilli toh jhanki hai, Bihar abhi baaki hai... Jai NDA (Delhi is just a glimpse, Bihar is yet to come. Jai NDA),” Manjhi tweeted.
However, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) countered the BJP's claims, asserting that the Delhi results would have no bearing on the Bihar polls.

Party spokesperson Mritunjay Tiwari emphasised that Bihar was poised for change, citing the outcome in neighbouring Jharkhand as a precedent.
"People in Bihar will vote for change. The results in Jharkhand will have an impact here. The Delhi election will not affect Bihar," Tiwari remarked.
The NDA, bolstered by the recent return of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, is banking on this renewed alliance to consolidate its position.
Kumar had rejoined the NDA bloc ahead of the last parliamentary elections, contributing to the alliance's victory in 30 out of 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar.
Political observers suggest that the Delhi Assembly win and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's budget allocations for Bihar could energise the NDA’s campaign.
Yet, with the RJD questioning the BJP’s influence and advocating for change, a fierce political battle looms in the eastern state.
As Bihar gears up for the crucial elections, the political landscape is set to witness intense manoeuvring as both the NDA and opposition forces rally their supporters for what promises to be a high-stakes contest.
