Renowned as the world's youngest professor from New York University, Prof. Suborno Isaac Bari is scheduled to visit the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) and other institutions in Assam this August 14 and 15, 2024.

Before arriving at USTM, Prof. Bari will visit ERD Foundation's Guwahati Central Public School in Badarpur and Central Public School in Patharkandi, Karimganj district, on August 13.

His session with students will focus on the theme "Children and Science."

During his visit, Prof. Bari will deliver a series of scientific lectures, followed by interactive sessions and discussions aimed at inspiring and motivating participants to embrace inquiry and innovation.

This opportunity offers students, scholars, and faculty a chance to interact with a prodigious talent renowned for groundbreaking contributions to science and education at a remarkably young age.

Born on April 9, 2012, Prof. Bari is often dubbed the "Einstein of our time" for his exceptional intellect and academic achievements across various fields.

His visit promises a unique experience, providing invaluable insights and learning opportunities for attendees interested in academic and research pursuits.

"We are delighted to welcome Prof. Suborno Isaac Bari to our campus," stated Shri Mahbubul Hoque, Chancellor of USTM. "His visit underscores the University's commitment to global academic collaborations and access to world-class innovation. Prof. Bari's presence will undoubtedly inspire Northeastern students to excel further in their academic pursuits."

Who is the young genius?

Bari, a Bengali-American prodigy and university professor, was born on April 9, 2012, at New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital.

His parents, Rashidul and Shaheda, immigrants from Bangladesh, noticed his extraordinary abilities early on.

By six months, he was speaking in full sentences, and by age two, he tackled complex mathematics, physics, and chemistry problems.

Videos showcasing his talents gained traction on social media and local TV channels, leading to interviews with esteemed institutions like Medgar Evers College and Voice of America. In 2016, Dr. Lisa Coico of City College of New York hailed him as the “Einstein of our time" for his outstanding performance in math and science tests.

At just four years old, Bari received commendation from former US President Barack Obama for his achievements, followed by recognition from Harvard University at six for his problem-solving prowess.

He entered New York City’s gifted and talented program soon after.

Dr. Thomas Isekenegbe of Bronx C. College interviewed Bari on April 24, 2018, discussing his anti-terrorism campaign and his book “The Love," published on March 15, 2019.

This work promoting interfaith understanding faced backlash from Bengali Muslim extremists in Jackson Heights on April 28, 2019.

In January 2020, Bari was honored with the Global Child Prodigy Award by Indian Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi.

He became a Visiting Professor of Physics at Mumbai University, presenting “The Love" at SP Pune University on January 6, 2020.

His accomplishments were showcased on NBC’s “Little Big Shots" in March 2020, where he was interviewed by Hollywood legend and Oscar-nominee Malisa McCarthy at Warner Bros Studio.
