New waterways terminal in Assam to boost Bhutan, Bangladesh trade

Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated the Jogighopa Inland Waterways Terminal on the Brahmaputra in Assam, enhancing regional connectivity and boosting trade with Bhutan and Bangladesh. The terminal, built at a cost of over Rs 82 crore, is expected to handle 1.1 million tonnes of cargo annually by 2027.
