Candidates of all major political parties including the ruling National Conference and opposition BJP as well as PDP on Monday filed nomination papers for key bypolls to the Budgam assembly segment in Jammu and Kashmir.

General candidates must pay a security deposit of Rs 10,000, while SC/ST candidates are required to deposit Rs 5,000. The election expenditure limit is capped at Rs 40 lakh per candidate.
