UP madrassa students seek alternatives after SC order

Around 32,000 students were enrolled in these courses across the state when the Supreme Court, on November 5 last year, deemed the degrees "unconstitutional," ruling that such degree-awarding authority lies only with universities regulated under the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act.
