Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS Pilani) has announced a five-year Master Research Agreement (MRA) with Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI) to advance technology research.
According to a statement issued by the institute, the collaboration aims to establish a robust framework for joint research, fostering the creation of intellectual property in cutting-edge technology solutions and promoting academic collaboration.
"The research will focus on areas including software development with an emphasis on data and AI, electric mobility, and transformative technologies such as generative AI," the institute maintained.
“We are committed to promoting innovation and excellence in research and education. This MRA with Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India is a major step in that direction,” said BITS Pilani Vice Chancellor Prof Ramgopal Rao.
“With MBRDI's corporate experience and our academic competence, we aim to make discoveries that benefit society. We also look forward to our long-term relationship for talent placement and development for interns and graduates at MBRDI.” VC Rao added.
Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India Managing Director and CEO Manu Saale echoed similar sentiments.
