Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Assam on Saturday for a day-long tour to inaugurate key infrastructure projects, including the Northeast's first highway-based Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) at Moran, the Rs 3,000-crore Kumar Bhaskar Varma Setu bridge over the Brahmaputra, the temporary campus of IIM-Guwahati, an AI-enabled national data centre, and flag off 100 electric vehicles, before addressing BJP booth-level workers in Guwahati.
This marks his third visit to the state in three months, ahead of impending assembly elections.
Modi is scheduled to arrive at Chabua airfield in Dibrugarh district at 9.50 am. He will then board an Indian Air Force C-130 aircraft to land at the Rs 100-crore, 4.2-km ELF on the Moran Bypass, developed along a national highway stretch in coordination with the IAF.
At the site, he will inaugurate the facility, the first of its kind in the Northeast, and witness a 20-minute aerial display by fighters, transport aircraft and helicopters.
From Moran, he will fly by C-130 to Guwahati for the second phase of the visit.

In Guwahati, Modi will inaugurate the six-lane Kumar Bhaskar Varma Setu, which connects Guwahati and North Guwahati, promising improved connectivity, enhanced seismic safety and accelerated development in the State Capital Region.
He will also virtually inaugurate the temporary campus of IIM-Guwahati at Bongora and the National Data Centre at Amingaon from Lachit Ghat.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said: “Assam will take a big academic leap with the inauguration of IIM-Guwahati and will become one of the select states to have an IIT, IIM, AIIMS and all other pioneer institutions to cater to the next generation.”
The National Data Centre, adopting a 'Cloud First' approach, will serve as the backbone of IT infrastructure in the region, bolstering e-governance and secure digital services.
From the same venue, Modi will flag off 100 electric vehicles for Guwahati under the PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme.
He will conclude the visit by addressing a public meeting of BJP booth-level workers in Guwahati before departing for Delhi.
Assam Chief Secretary Ravi Kota posted on X that he and Director General of Police Harmeet Singh reviewed arrangements, including security, crowd management, traffic regulation and emergency response. “Directed all agencies concerned to adhere strictly to established protocols and timelines to ensure the programme is conducted smoothly, safely and successfully,” he added.
