The number of pilgrims who have paid obeisance at the holy Amarnath cave shrine in South Kashmir crossed over the 4 lakh mark on Thursday, officials said.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, in a series of posts on X, said, “Baba Amarnath makes the impossible possible. With his blessings, the holy yatra today crossed the 4 lakh figure. I bow to Lord Shiva for this miracle and express my gratitude to everyone involved in making the holy pilgrimage a divine experience for devotees.”
Sinha said the massive numbers of pilgrims were a testament to the country’s unity and resolve to overcome all the prevailing and upcoming challenges.
“The total number of darshans and arrivals of devotees from across the country and the globe is a testament to India’s unity and its resolve to overcome challenges. I am truly thankful to the devotees, who have shown immense faith and strengthened our priceless spiritual heritage,” he said.
“This godly spiritual expedition is incomparable not because it’s arduous and challenging but because it’s an inimitable journey into pure bliss. It’s a spiritual experience and allows devotees to know themselves and offers deep trust and fills their hearts with infinite gratitude,” he added.
Earlier on Thursday, no fresh batch of yatris was allowed to move forward from the Jammu base camp to the Kashmir Valley due to bad weather, while yatra resumed as normal from the Baltal base camp after a day of suspension caused by the heavy rainfall in Kashmir.
