Holy Amarnath Yatra concludes, 4.10 L pilgrims pay obeisance

In what can be termed as big achievement of LG administration and J&K's government , the sacred 2025 Amarnath Yatra concluded today on a highly successful note, with more than 4.1 lakh devotees completing the pilgrimage spanning 37 days, marked by devotion, discipline, and seamless coordination.

So far, over 4.10 lakh yatris have performed darshan at the holy cave shrine in South Kashmir since the commencement of the yatra on July 3.

Amarnath Yatra suspended again due to repair work

Due to incessant rainfall and the need for better management of the tracks along the Pahalgam and Baltal axes of the Amarnath route, the authorities have decided to close down movement on both tracks.

This marks the second instance when the yatra has been suspended from Jammu. On July 17, the yatra was called off due to heavy rains at the twin base camps in Kashmir.

The Amarnath Yatra remains suspended for the second consecutive day from Jammu amid bad weather conditions, officials said on Friday. No fresh batch of yatris was allowed to proceed ahead to the Amarnath shrine due to incessant rains and bad weather, they said.

The number of pilgrims who have paid obeisance at the holy Amarnath cave shrine in South Kashmir crossed over the 4 lakh mark on Thursday.

Earlier on Thursday, no fresh batch of yatris was allowed to move forward from the Jammu base camp to the Kashmir Valley due to bad weather, while yatra resumed as normal from the Baltal base camp after a day of suspension caused by the heavy rainfall in Kashmir.

This marks the second instance when the yatra has been suspended. Earlier on July 17, the yatra was suspended due to heavy rains at both base camps in the Kashmir Valley.

The authorities on Thursday said no fresh batch would be allowed to proceed from Jammu to the holy cave shrine, while the previous batch, which has reached Baltal base camp, will continue its journey.

A fresh batch of 2,100 pilgrims left Jammu city for the twin base camps in the valley to join the Amarnath Yatra, officials said.
